Day 11: KL to Sg

Last buffet breakfast. Haha. After having eaten there for 10 days, the staff would have recognised us (I think they did). -_- And after eating there for 10 days, I still hadn't tried every single thing there either. Oh well. Haha.

Nasi lemak with fried anchovies and sambal kawang. Roti canai.

Sweet bread bun and what was this new cupcake that I'm seeing for the first time? I was curious..

Oh. It was only chocolate chip. Didn't like this, didn't really eat it. :P I got my hopes up. I thought it was something better.

Plain yoghurt and strawberry jam = strawberry yoghurt. I'm a genius right? :P

Took a taxi (costed us RM20) from the hotel to KL Sentral. Then took the Aerobus (RM8.00 per person) to LCCT. Checked in and sat around.

Ate this for lunch before our flight to Singapore.

It tasted nice. Kinda like sweet bread but not as sweet. No other flavour really. I liked it but.. I did a google on bamboo charcoal and I don't think it's something that should really be eaten..

The dorayaki may be cute.. but..

.. the taste was disappointing. It was just jammed together with a little kaya. I don't think this should have been called dorayaki. It does not live up to the name!

Tiger Airways flight TR 455 from KL to Singapore.

The flight took about an hour. And we arrived at the budget terminal of Changi Airport. Ha! I never knew there was a budget terminal at Changi. Last year was all about luxury (flew with Singapore Airlines), and this year was all budget. I like luxury better by the way. -__-

Got out of the airport and headed towards Concorde Hotel (100 Orchard Rd) via the Changi Shuttle Service. It was SGD9.00 per person, max of 7 per shuttle.

Unloaded our baggage in our hotel room and then headed out for dinner. We just went downstairs to the food court. (The hotel is above a shopping centre. A pretty dead one. But the food court is always busy at the right times).

From Wu Tong Kee Roast Meat, Food court Le Meridien/Concorde Shopping Centre:

Wanton noodle soup with charsiu. SGD3.50 (~AUD3.82)
This is exactly how I like to eat my noodles. Soup separate. Hehe. The meat wasn't warm.. and I hate this type of noodle (like at the uni noodle shop where I last had food poisoning! - well, not quite exactly but it did make me sick for a while..). But apart from that, this was okay and filling enough.

Charsiu and roast pork rice. SGD3.50 (~AUD3.82)

And this place looked enticing.. Haha. There were too many to pick from! Over 50 different things to choose. Took us a while to decide. :D

Durian ice kachang SGD2.50 (~AUD2.73) and Durian bobur chacha SGD3.00 (~AUD3.27).

Ice kachang. All the goodies at the bottom.

Bobur Chacha. This consisted of sweet potato pieces, taro pieces, sago, jelly, coconut milk, ice and durian puree. Mmmm. My favourite things rolled into one dessert! :) Hehe. Mmm.. taro and sweet potatoes! :D

Then back up to our hotel room to rest for the night before I step foot out into Singapore yet again. It'd been over a year since I'd been here. And last time I was here in Singapore.. it was Chinese New Year. So sadly all the shops were closed.. :(

Day 10: Last minute things, including Danson Tang!

Final night in Kuala Lumpur. Last minute things to eat, buy and do.

There were berries (or something) in the bread and butter pudding! I only scooped where I saw the fruit. Haha. :P

Not sure what fruit they were. I thought they were cherries though.

Roti canai with sunnyside up egg. Yummy!

Chicken sausages, weird hashbrowns and stale springrolls. (This wasn't mine)

Last minute buys from Daiso, The Curve Mall. I bought a lot of cooking/baking related items from there.. Haha. I'll show you later.

Bee's Bakery, The Curve mall.

Pandan/kaya roll. RM1.50 (~AUD0.69)

Red bean roll. RM1.60 (~AUD0.74).
This wasn't as nice as the kaya roll though.

After doing some last minute shopping, we decided to head towards Pavilion for dinner. We walked through Sungei Wang Plaza and found Danson Tang! :D Haha. The singing sounded familiar, so we took a closer look. (I've only watched him in Twdramas and not listened to his music though). There wasn't a massive crowd, but it wasn't too small either. There were heaps of fans taking photos so I decided to join in too. At least this time I knew who he was. Haha.

Sadly, he was at the end of singing that song. :(

The MC got Danson to do poses.

Or make faces.. I think he's cross-eyed here.

They spoke in Mandarin so I couldn't understand everything. I understood bits and pieces though.. Haha. I feel so illiterate. :(

And then we finally arrived at Food Republic, Pavilion mall. For the very last time.

Stingray and Lala on rice from Hotplate stall. RM9.90 (~AUD4.55)
The stingray was full of bones and didn't really have a unique taste. Probably like eel? And I don't know what Lala is.. like pippies I suppose? I'm not sure. This wasn't mine.

I.. had nasi lemak~ :)

Nasi lemak rendang beef from Mak Tom's Nasi Lemak stall. RM7.90 (~AUD3.63)
Yum yum yum~ I love their nasi lemak. It's not too spicy for me. Hehe. :D

We also bought some last minute things we wanted to try. They didn't have any bamboo charcoal mochi (that I kept seeing and saying that I'd try it one day) in store so I just got the bamboo charcoal sandwich slices.

Bamboo charcoal sandwich (3 thick slices) RM3.80 (~AUD1.75) and pandan kaya dorayaki RM1.8o (~AUD0.83) from Lavender bakery.
We'll have them tomorrow at the airport or something.

Soursop ABC (ice kachang) from Sweetspoon Desserts stall. RM4.75 (~AUD2.19).

And I nearly forgot about the red dragonfruit that we bought the other day. It had been sitting in the mini fridge. Haha. Well, last chance to eat it before we check out of our hotel room tomorrow afternoon.

Washed it, then cut it. I was thinking to myself "What if it's not red inside...". But red juices started oozing out as I was cutting it. Haha. Yay!

Tasted just the same as white fleshed dragonfruit. But it looked so cool! Mmm.. I want some more!

Day 9: Claypot rice, very nice!

I like claypot rice. I've had it in Melb, but this was much cheaper of course. Mmm. Lunch was very satisfying.

The claypots being reheated. The reason why the food is so cheap and fast, is because they already prepared the claypots. They just add the sauces and other ingredients and then reheat for a while before serving to you. You can say it's like fastfood.

At the food court on level 4 of Suria, KLCC.

Chicken, mushroom and egg on rice claypot. RM7.10 (~AUD3.27)
This was delicious and filling! I think it had ginger in it too. Hehe~ Yay!

BBQ chicken rice claypot. RM5.90 (~AUD2.71)
It was BBQ sauce I think. And it's actually quite nice. BBQ sauce and rice is unique and nice. Haha.

Oh. And this was my breakfast before we headed to see the Petronas Twin Towers.

Congee with lots of pepper. I just couldn't taste it. I had to put a very large amount in before it was strong enough.

Pancakes and bread and butter pudding. With that yummy vanilla sauce. Haha.

The Petronas Twin Towers. We got tickets (it's free to go up) but we had to wait an hour or so before going up to the skybridge, which is on level 41 I think. The lift goes up really fast. About a level per second! :D

I didn't think the view was that great from the skybridge though.

Red bean ice blend (R) RM12.00 (~AUD5.52+5%) and Berry'd Treasure (R) RM12.80+ (~ AUD5.89+5%) from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf @Suria KLCC.
Mmm. I really like the Berry'd Treasure. It was berry berry nice~ :P

And these are some things that were bought from Mercato the night before.

Red local dragonfruit RM7.75 (~AUD3.57) and honey star fruit RM2.38 (~AUD1.09).

They weren't that sweet though. :(

I felt like drinking soy milk for some reason (I don't really drink soy milk. I rarely do.)..

Miko soy milk 1L RM3.90 (~AUD1.79).
This was the best soy milk I've ever had! I was enticed by the cute character on the packaging. Hahaha. But it was really nice. We kept it in the mini bar fridge in our hotel room, so it was nice and chilled to drink. Yumm!
